About the Artists

Oleg Stavrowsky

March 6, 1927--May 15, 2020

Oleg was one of the icons of western art in the United States and is a member of a the Skull Society, the elite group of top artists who display their work at the C. M. Russell Art Show and Auction. His work is in collections all over the world, and has won countless awards. It is enormously popular with both collectors and fellow artists. Oleg was born in Harlem, New York in 1927. He was the son of immigrants, fleeing from the revolution in Russia. He began his career as a commercial artist, then fell in love with western art after a visit to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma, and was inspired to do fine art. Though best known for western art, Oleg's subjects include abstracts, Native Americans, jazz musicians, automobiles, oil-drilling paintings, and various others. A fearless and ever evolving artist, he got interested in something and dove into painting it with the style that best suited the subject. Oleg passed away at home in Cedar Park, TX May 15, 2020. His joy-filled, exuberant character will be forever evident in his beautiful works of art.

Lesa Delisi

Lesa is Oleg's daughter, and fifth child, and began painting and selling art at age 14. Her original subject matter was primarily "Americana" which included pastoral scenes, westerns, landscapes, portraits, and occasionally, fighter jets or other commissioned subjects. Lesa painted primarily in oils. She won many awards and had a successful career as an artist, into her 30's. Lesa's interest in working with children in the field of speech-language pathology put her on a different career path for a few decades. This has been a very rewarding and demanding career that she loves. Lesa missed the wonderful expressive outlet of creating art and returned to painting in 2015. She won Best of Show in acrylics at the Heart of the West Art Show and Auction her first year back painting. Expanding her subject matter and style of painting to include a wider variety, Lesa is gradually developing a new following. Life seems to have come full circle with art becoming the biggest draw for Lesa's energy, once again. And she loves it.
